Hello, my name is Rodolfo Venegas, also known as Sonikgroove. I’m a producer, composer, and sound designer from Colombia, based in Barcelona since 2002, where I’ve spent over two decades composing music for documentaries, film, and audiovisual projects of all kinds.<\/p>\n
My journey started in Bogot\u00e1 in 2000, working as a sound technician and composing my first pieces for TV commercials and radio ads. A couple of years later I moved to Barcelona, where I teamed up with Jairo Cata\u00f1o to found Tr\u00e9bol Rojo, a studio focused on documentary soundtracks. Many of the documentaries we scored together have gone on to win numerous local and international awards, and several are now streaming on Filmin<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Around the same time, we also launched Territorio Comanche, an electronic dub project rooted in Afro-Latin rhythms. We took the stage at festivals including Fusion Festival (L\u00e4rz, Germany) and the Third Latin American Congress of Cultures (Medell\u00edn, Colombia). One of our tracks, \u00abCumbia Resistencia,\u00bb<\/em> was later featured in Netflix<\/strong>‘s documentary series Explained<\/em> and the series Entrev\u00edas<\/em>.<\/p>\n In recent years, I’ve worked as a freelance producer and sound designer across a wide range of formats: documentaries, theatre, video games, corporate video, art installations, and other creative projects. Alongside this, I’ve kept growing my own project, Sonikgroove<\/a>, as a producer and DJ, performing at venues, clubs, and festivals across Europe and Latin America, including Tribal Gathering (Panama), Own Spirit (Spain), Borgo Universo (Italy), and Primavera Sound x Soho House (Spain).<\/p>\n As a composer for audiovisual media, my goal is always the same: music that strengthens the emotional impact and storytelling of the image. I believe close, honest communication with the director or client is what turns a good score into the right score, and I always try to bring ideas to the table, not just follow a brief.<\/p>\n Have a project in mind?
